Some guitars are born from convenience. This one was born from a conversation.
When Jody Bartula came to us, we didn’t start with a blueprint. We shared stories from our past – the ones that shaped our work, our sound, and our roots. His late nights on the road were our late nights in the shop. Together, we discovered we shared a desire to keep growing, keep evolving, and keep chasing that perfect tone. The instrument that grew from that conversation carries that same spirit.
We began with our own Clements JDC – a semi-hollow workhorse built for tone and versatility – and shaped it to Jody’s liking. The result is an instrument built for the kind of life he leads: from dance halls in Texas to sold-out stages across Europe and Australia.
It’s more than a guitar. It’s a shared legacy – honoring both what has been and what’s still to come.
Built once, for one.
About the Artist
Jody Bartula is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and Texas country music mainstay, widely recognized as the fiddle and guitar player in Cody Johnson’s band and as the frontman of Jody Bartula & the Barflies.
Born and raised in Texas, Jody’s love for music emerged early. Over the years, he cultivated his craft to become a versatile performer, equally at ease on fiddle, guitar, and in vocal harmony. His talent and energy have earned him respect across the Texas/Red Dirt circuit as both a dynamic performer and a trusted collaborator.
With Cody Johnson’s Rockin’ CJB, Jody contributes as the band’s fiddle and guitar voice, bringing depth and texture to their live sound while serving as an essential presence on stage. Outside of Cody’s band, he leads The Barflies, a project that showcases his own musical direction and blends influences from traditional country, honky-tonk, and modern roots.
